Life...or something like it

This year Grant and I decided to read through the whole Bible...he's reading the Chronological Bible...while I'm reading a Bible for Women (which is laid out as a passage of Old and New Testament, a Proverb and a Psalm). It's exciting to see what the other has learned. I've also been reading a book my momma gave me for Christmas about listening to God's voice and being able to recognize when He's speaking. It has opened my eyes...and has been a wonderful learning experience. I also started reading "A Praying Wife". Throughout our studies we have learned to be specific in prayer and be thankful for everything. When you step back from yourself and look around to see what God has done over the years...weeks...days...hours...and minutes...it's incredibly amazing! We have been blessed.

We aren't sure where we will be after Grant graduates and we have both been praying consistently and almost constantly that God will show us the path He wants us to take and that He will continue to provide for us. We aren't worried...we know He has a plan. We haven't heard back from anyone yet (of course it's only been 2 weeks) so we are still job searching.

A lot has gone on since the last time that we/I wrote. It has been incredibly cold in Boone...not just normal Boone cold...but Insane Boone cold. Grant is back in school and still teaching labs and I am still working at the Chiropractor ( I learned about developing and taking x-rays the other day...kind of cool). God has provided greatly for us...we are enjoying life and can't wait for the next chapter to begin!

Grant should be updating some time soon!

Blessings,

Toccoa Falls College Fire...

www.tfc.edu

Yesterday morning, Gate Cottage at Toccoa Falls College burned to the ground. This is a sad time for our family...it was where Grant and I celebrated our first moments of being a family (our wedding reception). It meant a lot to us. Please pray for TFC. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Trying to keep up...

This year we are trying to keep up with blogging...

We had a wonderful Christmas. My (LC's) parents came up for the holiday. And Grant's parents came up soon after. We were lucky to be able to spend the holidays with both families. We had a lot of fun with both! Buddy and Indiana enjoyed Christmas a lot. Buddy got a singing dog from my daddy. He absolutely goes nuts when it sings. The cat is somewhat afraid of it. He's probably thinking...great...another dog in the house.

Currently Grant is applying to several jobs all over the U.S. We have no idea where we will be in 5 months...kind of stressful but at the same time really exciting. We can't wait to find out where God's going to take us. Grant's graduating May 9th...it'll be here before we know it!

We have been blessed with time off from school and work to be able to relax together as a family...life is always hectic during the school year. we've actually have had time to cook and keep the house clean...it's crazy.

Well...we should be keeping up with the blog a little better this year.
Keep in touch!

Blessings,
~LC

If life were only this easy...

From the movie Eurotrip...

Cooper
: [in London, answers his cell phone] Cooper here. Hello Mr. Walters. Uh, yes sir, I'm down in file storage. Oh, just hang on one second.
[lowers phone, picks teeth, puts phone back to ear]
Cooper: No, sir, I can't find the Goodwin file anywhere. Yes sir, I'll keep looking. I don't rest until I find it.
[hangs up]
Scott: You didn't tell your boss you were leaving the country?
Cooper: They would have stopped paying me. Seemed easier.

Later...
Cooper: Hello Mr. Walters... I see... fired? Well, I... Well, if that's what you want, I understand... goodbye, sir.
Scott: They had to catch you eventually.
Cooper: No, they fired Humphrey.
Scott: Shut up!
Cooper: I got his office and a raise!

If life were only that easy. 2008 was a long and difficult year. We lost 5 family members and we had 2 friends lose a parent. Death is never easy to deal with...but we learned a lot about family and friends. And we miss those that we have lost. But they have left us with wonderful memories.

But for the good in the year we also moved into our duplex, got Buddy the Dog and I got a new job as a Chiropractic Assistant. We also had our nephew accept Christ as his Savior.

We have high expectations in 2009...but we realize that is not up to us...but to God. We are excited for what He has planned for us. As Jeremiah 29:11 says " For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Have a Blessed New Year! (We promise to update more...)
